Despite difficult weather conditions that delayed construction work, the reconstruction of the bridge over the Western Bug River on the local road “Sokal-Stoyaniv” (Sokal-Zhvyryka section) will receive a new impetus thanks to financial decisions made by the regional authorities.
According to information provided by Andriy Dyachenko, head of the Sheptytskyi District State Administration, following negotiations with Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, important agreements were reached regarding the resumption of work on the site.
🔹 Key financial steps:
- In December 2025, 33.27 million hryvnias were transferred from the regional budget to repay the debt to the contractor for previously completed work. This allowed the situation to be resolved and the company to be partially paid.
- The Lviv region’s budget for 2026 provides for an additional 30 million hryvnias to continue the reconstruction of the bridge.
- According to representatives of the regional state administration, work will resume as soon as weather conditions permit.
🔹 Total cost of reconstruction:
More than 150 million hryvnia is needed to complete the project. The search for additional funding continues.
🔹 Construction history:
- Construction of the bridge connecting the village of Zhvyra and the town of Sokal began in 2023 with funding from the State Road Fund.
- However, in the same year, the fund was liquidated and its resources were transferred to the general state budget for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
- The contractor for the reconstruction is Avtomagistral-Pivden LLC, which has already received 91 million hryvnias and partially completed the work at its own expense to ensure the preservation of the facility in accordance with the technology.
- At the time of suspension, approximately 50% of the planned volume had been completed.
🔹 Planned completion date:
The project was initially planned to be completed by the end of 2025, but the deadlines have been revised depending on further funding and weather conditions.
