In Lviv, in order to free up public space for residents, nine more kiosks have been dismantled. This decision was made following actions by the executive committee of the Lviv City Council, as reported by the Department of Natural Resources and Construction.
The dismantling of structures took place at the following addresses: 59 General Chuprynka Street, Horbachevskoho Street – Kastelivka Street (2 structures), 112 Naukova Street, 176 B. Khmelnytskyi Street, 6 Shota Rustaveli Street, 76 Heroiv UPA Street, and two more structures were at Knyaz Osmomysl Square (the site of the former ‘Dobrobut’ market). One of them was located at a tram stop.
The city council notes that the owners of the structures have the opportunity to dismantle them voluntarily, and a significant number of them are complying. In cases where the kiosks are not removed, this is carried out by employees of the “Administrative and Technical Management” Municipal Enterprise in cooperation with district administrations.
Organising the placement of temporary structures improves pedestrian safety and the overall quality of the urban environment.
