By St Nicholas Day, the city will pay financial assistance to the children of combatants who died not while performing combat missions. The decision was made today by the executive committee of the city council.
Press service of Lviv city council
“These children have lost the most precious thing – their parents, who defended our country from Russian invaders, but did not die during combat missions. Therefore, it is our duty today to support and help them, especially on the eve of the bright holiday of St Nicholas. This is a manifestation of indifference and care from our community,” says Tetiana Kolesnyk, Head of the Social Protection Department of Lviv City Council.
The amount of financial assistance is UAH 10,000 for each child. To receive assistance, you need to submit an application to the Lviv Centre for Provision of Services to Combatants, which operates at two addresses: 41 Pekarska St. (head office) and 85 Gen. Chuprynky, 85 (branch office). Contact phone number: 0739628325.
By the way, in 2023, the city provided such assistance to 44 children whose parents defended Ukraine from Russian invaders.
At the end of 2023, Lviv approved a new comprehensive programme of support for war veterans and relatives of families of fallen defenders of Ukraine to help and support them as much as possible. It includes many different areas: financial benefits, social and psychological assistance, medical treatment and rehabilitation, financial vouchers for business development, employment and training assistance, recreation and leisure, etc. The city has allocated over UAH 480 million to implement the programme in 2024.
