City Council to demand that the premises of the underpass on Heroiv Street be returned to its previous state
The City Inspectorate of the State Architectural and Construction Control has begun an official inspection of a kiosk located right at a public transport stop selling alcohol. This was reported by the press service of the Lviv City Council.
Legal proceedings are also ongoing. Liubomyr Zubach, Deputy Mayor of Lviv for Urban Development, urged Lviv residents not to buy anything in illegal premises.
We are talking about the underground passage of the Kinescope plant, which has been turned into rows of kiosks. The structures have not been put into operation, but they are already selling kebabs and alcohol, which is illegal and dangerous.
According to Liubomyr Zubach, the process of obtaining permission to conduct the inspection was not easy, as official construction inspections were suspended during the war. Nevertheless, the city managed to get permission from the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development to conduct an inspection at this facility.
“In fact, according to the documents, this is a construction site. That’s exactly right. The premises have not been put into operation. But at the same time, trade is going on here in full swing. And this is illegal and dangerous! There’s no telling if it’s going to collapse on someone’s head.
I’m not even talking about the fact that the owners turned the underpass into rows of kiosks. At the same time, they seized city land – part of the sidewalk – leaving only a narrow passage for people. Of course, they had neither the appropriate permits nor the moral right to do so. But we cannot talk about any conscious position when the ownership of the underpass was registered through a registrar in a dubious way, which the city council is already challenging in court,” said Liubomyr Zubach.
Employees of the city’s SACC inspectorate took measurements and made a control purchase of products. All this will be used as evidence in court proceedings.
