In Lviv, on Zaliznychna Street on the section from the quasi-roundabout on Shevchenka Street to Yasna Street, the laying of the lower layer of asphalt has been completed. This was reported by LCE “Lvivavtodor”.
The lower layer of asphalt has been laid along the entire length of the section, which is over 400 metres long, as well as at the Zaliznychna – Yasna junction, where a roundabout is planned.
The contractor is currently installing kerbs and edging stones, fitting gully gratings and manholes, and constructing pavements. In the near future, they plan to move on to laying the top layer of asphalt. According to the director of LCE “Lvivavtodor”, Mykola Vlasiuk, in the third ten-day period of June they plan to complete the main package of works, including full asphalting of the section from the quasi-roundabout on Shevchenka Street to Yasna Street.
The Zaliznychna Street repair project provides for the complete replacement of utility infrastructure, renewal of the road surface, the installation of two cycle lanes, pavement repairs and the creation of parking spaces. The carriageway and cycle lanes will be surfaced with asphalt concrete, the parking spaces will be paved with setts, and the pavements with concrete block paving. The street will be levelled so that it is convenient for all residents to get around, in particular most pedestrian crossings will be raised to pavement level.
The repair works are being carried out using loan funds, as money from the city budget is primarily being directed towards supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
