The authorities in Lviv have decided to dismantle three more temporary structures used for business activities at 15-A Hetmana I. Mazepy Street. The decision was approved by the executive committee of Lviv City Council.
Entrepreneurs operating in these kiosks (MAFs) on Mazepa Street have been asked to dismantle their structures themselves by 25 August 2026 and not to obstruct reconstruction works on the site at 15-A Hetmana I. Mazepy Street.
At the same time, the Department of Architecture and Spatial Development is to prepare a concept for the possible relocation of these kiosks. One option being considered is arranging a new location for them near building No. 11 at the crossroads of Pylypa Orlyka Street and Hetmana I. Mazepy Street.
If the owners do not remove the temporary structures voluntarily by the specified deadline, they will be dismantled compulsorily. Under the executive committee's decision, such works must be completed by 15 September 2026.
The matter concerns part of the territory of the Topolya-1 market on Hetmana Mazepy and Pylypa Orlyka Streets. This area is to be cleared for road reconstruction and widening of the carriageway.
The reconstruction of the key Mazepy Street arterial road in Lviv's Shevchenkivskyi district began in May. The project envisages widening the carriageway, installing two dedicated lanes and island public transport stops, improving infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists, and creating parking spaces and green areas. The works are being financed by the European Investment Bank, and one of the project's aims is to improve access to nearby medical institutions, in particular the UNBROKEN centre.
