At 67a Volodymyra Velykoho Street in Lviv, instead of the previously planned residential development, a three-storey commercial and office building with an underground car park is to be constructed. The relevant urban planning conditions and restrictions were considered at a meeting of the executive committee of Lviv City Council.
According to the Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning Liubomyr Zubach, a multi-storey residential building will not be constructed on this site. The project envisages specifically a three-storey commercial and office facility with an underground car park, and the numerous existing structures on the site are to be demolished.
According to the official, the company ‘Stoun moll’ leased the land at this address for office and warehouse premises. In 2025, the company applied to change the designated use of the lease to residential construction. Residents of neighbouring buildings opposed the multi-storey housing, after which the City Council organised an on-site inspection, listened to residents’ views and held further negotiations with the tenant.
As a result of the discussions, an alternative development option was agreed: a three-storey commercial and office building with an underground car park, without any apartments or residential premises. The city authorities emphasise that during the implementation of the project they will monitor compliance with building regulations and the condition of neighbouring buildings in order to avoid possible damage.
