Construction of Support Wall Commences at Lviv Entrance from Vynnyky

On Lychakivska Street, from Bukova Street to the city boundary, work has begun on constructing a new support wall. The company LLC ‘Avtomagistral-Pivden’ is actively fortifying the slopes from the forest side next to the route to Lviv. The old structure, which was in poor condition, has already been dismantled.

Workers are using gabion structures — metal meshes filled with stones — to reinforce the slopes and blend them harmoniously into the surrounding environment. The primary concern was ensuring the safety and reliability of the support wall, approximately 500 metres in length.

“This modern solution will allow the slope to be reinforced while harmoniously fitting into the surrounding environment, as such constructions are also used in landscape design,” commented Mykola Vlasyuk, director of LCP ‘Lvivavtodor’.

Repair work at the entrance to Lviv is being carried out in stages to minimise traffic delays. The total road closure is planned in sections of 100–150 metres.
