Free Transfers in Transport Restored in Lviv

From 11 April, Lviv is reinstating the option of free transfers in public transport for passengers who pay for their journey via the LeoCard app or with a LeoCard. This was announced by the Director of the Department of City Mobility and Street Infrastructure of the Lviv City Council, Oleh Zabarilo.

After the service is restored, passengers will be able to pay once and have 40 minutes for transfers between buses, trams, and trolleybuses without additional charges. The number of transfers is unlimited, but each journey must be validated within 40 minutes.

For users of the LeoCard app, old tickets will not be transferable. Tickets purchased between 11 March and 11 April will be valid for only one journey. For users of the general transport LeoCard, it is important to have funds for each validation, as the system temporarily reserves funds for each validation, but at night all journeys within 40 minutes are counted as one.

The suspension of free transfers was implemented from 11 March to 11 April as a crisis measure due to the spike in fuel prices. This allowed for the stable operation of transport and postponed the increase in fare prices.
