Free Transport for Benefit Recipients from Neighbouring Communities Restored in Lviv

In Lviv, free travel on municipal transport has been reinstated for certain categories of benefit recipients who are not registered in the Lviv community. The decision was made on 24 April as part of the agreements reached at the general meeting of the Association “Lviv Agglomeration“.

Free transport is extended to people with disabilities in groups I and II, children with disabilities, as well as children from large families. The activation of LeoCard benefit cards for these categories will commence on 27 April.

To restore the functionality of the cards, relevant documents, including proof of entitlement to free travel and a passport, need to be submitted to LKP “Lvivavtodor”. Residents can submit these online via the Resident Portal of Lviv City Council or in person at the Passenger Service Centre on 10 Horbachevskoho Street.

The city also covers travel expenses for war veterans, individuals disabled due to war, family members of deceased defenders, and children attending Lviv schools. Models for cost distribution for other categories of benefit recipients are being discussed jointly with the leadership of the 12 communities that are part of the Association.

“This decision assists the most vulnerable groups and ensures their right to free travel. Our next step is to agree on a cost distribution model for other beneficiaries with the 12 communities,” noted Deputy Director of the Urban Mobility Department Dmytro Petsiy.
