In Lviv, the historical fan door on the street was restored. Hlybokiy, 19, near Lviv Polytechnic. Craftsmen repaired the curtains and restored the wooden door panels. The restoration was carried out as part of the city’s co-financing program, which is coordinated by the Heritage Bureau of the Department of Historic Preservation.

“We had to clean them of a lot of layers of old paint, and also change some elements that had rotted. Additional work was added by the carved wooden door frame, which was damaged. And now the structure of the tree can be seen very well,” said master restorer Bohdan Gerus.

As noted by Pavlo Bogajchyk, director of LKP “Bureau of Heritage”, the total cost of the works is about UAH 45,000. The city paid 70% of this amount, so the residents’ contribution amounted to UAH 13,500.

By the way, this is not the first restored object in this building. Previously, within the framework of the Co-financing Program, the outer gate was restored here.

We remind you that in September Lviv will accept applications for the restoration of historical windows and gates within the framework of the Co-financing Program. The participants of the new set will be residents who volunteer through Lviv administrative service centers exclusively from September 1 to 15.
