In Lviv, the road traffic will be organised on several problematic sections in four districts of the city, which will help improve safety and comfort for road users. At the meeting of the city road safety commission, a decision was made regarding the installation of new pedestrian crossings and traffic lights, as well as cycling infrastructure and roundabouts.
According to the head of the commission, director of the Department of Urban Mobility and Street Infrastructure of the Lviv City Council, Oleh Zabarilo, the changes will concern Rudnenska Street — an important transit artery. Here, they plan to organise chaotic parking and create a roundabout to improve traffic flow.
At the intersection of Varsavska Street — Pid Holoskom — Chornovil Ave, traffic lights will be installed to organise chaotic pedestrian movement. A separate right-turn lane will allow for the organisation of a public transport stop.
Plans are underway to prohibit stopping and parking on Veteraniv Street, 11, to ensure unimpeded access to Lviv Gymnasium ‘Prestige’. Together with local residents, efforts are being made to enhance safety on other streets of Lviv.
