In Lviv, the city has launched a new initiative by installing special “Parking for parents with children” signs at LeoParking locations. According to LKP “Lvivavtodor,” the project aims to raise awareness among drivers and encourage them to leave these designated spots for vehicles carrying parents with infants.
🔹 Initial locations with new signs
The following areas already feature the new signs:
-
Pidvalna St.
-
Lystopadovoho Chynu St.
-
Ozarkevycha St.
-
Kostya Levytskoho St.
-
Beresteiska Union Square
🔹 Informational purpose only
The signs serve a purely informational purpose and do not carry legal penalties. They remind drivers to show courtesy to families with small children, who often face challenges navigating the city—especially with strollers.
🔹 Parallel effort for people with disabilities
In addition, the city continues to mark spaces for people with limited mobility:
“Please leave this space for wheelchair users.”
🔹 Official comment
“This is not about enforcement—it’s about respect. When you see these signs, just leave the spot free for someone who truly needs it. It’s about empathy and community,” emphasized Mykola Vlasyuk, director of LKP “Lvivavtodor.”
