Lviv is urging a halt to the destruction of the inclusive toilet on Svobody Avenue. Over the past month, there have been numerous instances of vandalism against the modular toilet situated outdoors. This modern inclusive toilet, featuring a metal module with a ‘WC’ sign and icons for various cubicles, has been operational for about a year and a half.
The city council is asking residents and visitors not to damage public property. The service costs 20 UAH, payable by cash or card. The toilet has two cubicles: one inclusive, the other standard. Instances of vandalism cause not only material damage but also inconvenience for users, as the toilet may cease to function without electricity.
In its first month of operation, the toilet welcomed 2,001 visitors. Its mechanisms can operate briefly after a power outage to allow visitors to exit the facility without issues. The council calls for respect, which will help maintain the infrastructure in good condition.
