In Lviv, an updated procedure has been approved for the financial support of civil society associations and charitable organisations that provide social services to residents of the Lviv City Territorial Community. The decision was adopted at a meeting of the executive committee of the Lviv City Council.
According to the city’s Social Protection Department, the changes were prepared taking into account requests from organisations working in the social sphere, as well as due to the rising cost of goods, works and services required for their activities.
Among the key innovations is the expansion of the list of organisations eligible to apply for financial support from the city budget. In particular, it provides for the possibility of allocating funds to civil society associations working with the veteran community. The maximum amount of financial support that a single organisation can receive has also been increased.
Funding for civil society and charitable organisations will, as before, be provided on a competitive basis under a separate procedure. The City Council notes that the competition for support for 2027 is planned to be announced later this month.
In 2026, 13 civil society organisations already received financial support from the budget of the Lviv City Territorial Community. The total amount of funds allocated exceeded UAH 1.43 million.
