In Lviv, there are plans to enhance the rules for setting up summer terraces near restaurants. The decision to extend the transitional period was made at a city council session, where 44 councillors voted.
According to the resolution, entrepreneurs who had permits for open-air summer terraces in 2023 will have a transitional period for the 2026 season. This allows the use of covers and furniture according to previous designs.
The executive committee has been given the authority to determine the start and end dates of the season depending on weather conditions. It is also proposed to work on the operation of the terraces during the winter period.
Mayor Andriy Sadovyi noted that there are many negative precedents where summer terraces were turned into winter ones, leading to legal disputes. Such incidents were particularly noted near the Garrison Church.
