Two police officers who have undergone specialized training will ensure round-the-clock law and order in the community.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief of Police of Lviv Region Dmytro Mikhalets, Chief of the Lviv District Police Department №1 Police Colonel Pavlo Harasym, Head of the Lviv District Administration Khrystyna Zamula and Head of the Lviv District Council Oleh Sulima.
The main responsibilities of a community police officer include maintaining public order, counteracting and preventing offenses, preventive work, and more. The residents themselves will evaluate the activities of the police officer.
A community police officer without exaggeration, a friend of every local. During the war, community officers have much more responsibility: 24/7 they do everything to make every resident feel protected. Often – risking their safety.
It will be recalled that the Community Police Officer project is being implemented by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Oblast together with territorial communities with which relevant memoranda of cooperation have been signed.
In Lviv oblast, the project has already been implemented in 24 territorial communities, 25 police stations have been opened, where 36 community police officers are serving, and by the end of this year their number will increase to 61.
