Alley between UCU and the centre of Stryiskyi Park upgraded

In Stryiskyi Park in Lviv, asphalting has been completed on the pedestrian alley that connects the Ukrainian Catholic University with the central part of the park. The renewed path has been designed to be convenient for people with limited mobility.

The alley lies within the area of Ivana Franka, Kozelnytska and Stryiska streets. Previously, this section was in worse condition than the other park alleys: the old asphalt surface was damaged and created difficulties for people with disabilities and parents with pushchairs.

According to the Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Construction of Lviv City Council, Taras Kubai, the repairs are being carried out at the investor’s expense as part of ongoing maintenance of the pedestrian infrastructure. The old asphalt has been completely replaced, and the path itself has been adapted to the needs of visitors with limited mobility.

As part of the improvement works, 8 benches, 5 litter bins and 10 light fittings will be installed along the alley, and a drainage system will be arranged and the installation of lighting completed. The works are being financed from off-budget funds within a socio-economic partnership.

The concept for upgrading this part of Stryiskyi Park was developed, in agreement with the Department of Architecture and Spatial Development of Lviv City Council, by the landscape architecture studio KOTSIUBA.
