At 6-8 Kathedralna Square, near the Basilica of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Lvivvodokanal repair crews have renovated 30 metres of an Austrian concrete sewer dating back to the late nineteenth century. The work was carried out using the re-lining method.
“The re-lining method is the pushing of a smaller diameter pipe into a larger diameter pipe. This is how we reconstructed 30 metres of concrete sewerage network at 6-8 Kateralna Square.
The complexity of the work was that we had to work in a limited space in the central part of the city. Therefore, our employees specially made narrow formwork to get to the sewer, which runs at a depth of 3.5 metres.
All the work has already been completed by our team No. 5 of Lvivvodokanal’s sewerage network repair section. By the end of the week, the street and pedestrian area will be restored,” Lvivvodokanal said.
According to the company, in September, Lvivvodokanal repair crews replaced 95.2 metres of sewerage networks. In total, since the beginning of the year, the company has already replaced 1,940 metres of emergency sewerage.
