Benches with Solar Panels to Appear in the Centre of Lviv

Benches with solar panels will appear in the centre of Lviv, funded by a grant from the Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation (SAIDC) in cooperation with the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Ukraine. This project is being implemented by the public organisation ‘Ekoklub’ with the support of the Halych District Administration, as reported by the Lviv City Council.

The bench, fitted with wooden slats for seating and a metal frame, has a built-in solar panel that accumulates energy. This will allow residents and visitors to the city to charge their mobile devices.

Three locations in the centre have already been identified: Franko Square, the park near the Bernardine Monastery (with two benches each), and Chornovola Avenue. In total, the number of such benches in the city will amount to 13 units.

The Halych District Administration emphasises that international cooperation will contribute to the modernisation of the city’s infrastructure, making it more technological and convenient for the community.
