6.3 km of Emergency Sewer Collector Replaced in Vynnyky

Lvivvodokanal continues its large-scale project to modernize sewer infrastructure. The replacement of the pressure collector from the “Kiltseva” sewage pumping station in Vynnyky to Lviv’s wastewater treatment facilities on Plastova Street is underway. As of today, 6.3 km of the planned 13.6 km of new networks have been installed.

Project Implementation

The work began in 2020 and is being carried out in stages, funded through annual investment programs.

In 2024, the following was completed:

  • 1.5 km of 400 mm diameter pipeline;
  • installation of air vents and switching chambers for current users.

As part of the 2025 investment program, 2 more km of sewer lines are planned for installation. The project is expected to be completed by 2028 at a total cost of ₴65.4 million.

Modernization Features

The outdated asbestos-cement pipes, laid in the 1950s and 1960s, are being replaced with modern polyethylene pipes of 400 mm in diameter. The new collector is being laid in two parallel lines:

  1. Load distribution: Two parallel pipelines ensure effective performance during peak loads, such as heavy rainfall.
  2. Backup pipeline: One line serves as a reserve in case of repairs or emergencies.

Importance for the Community

The modernization increases the collector’s capacity, which is essential for Vynnyky, a city experiencing rapid development and population growth.
