In the village of Zarudtsi, routine repairs are under way on a section of Franka Street, which forms part of the road network of the Lviv community. The priority status of this project was determined by the Office for Agglomeration and Community Development as part of the routine maintenance programme.
The road is more than 2 km long, so due to its length and the start of the full-scale war, the works are being carried out in stages. Previously, Lviv City Council had already repaired part of the street and the roundabout: asphalt surfacing was laid from the junction with the main road along the initial section of Franka Street.
Last year, the unrepaired section of the road was brought up to standard under the Programme for the Maintenance and Repair of Unpaved Public Roads of Local Importance, prepared by the Office for Agglomeration and Community Development together with the district administrations. The surface was levelled, topped up with a crushed stone and sand mix, compacted with self-propelled rollers and the soil was stabilised, creating a base for subsequent asphalting.
These works ensured access for the school bus and public transport routes, including city routes No. 58 and No. 59. Recently, the Shevchenkivskyi District Administration has launched a new stage of routine repairs: contractors are working on the section of the street where asphalt had already been laid earlier.
