In the Belz community, a significant project titled “Improvement of Natural Environment Quality in the Border Area of Gmina Bełżec and the City Council of Belz” has been initiated. This project, funded under the Interreg NEXT Poland – Ukraine 2021-2027 Program, is aimed at substantially enriching the ecological condition in this zone.
Following the official signing of documents with the Joint Technical Secretariat in Warsaw and Gmina Bełżec, the preparation of necessary papers for the registration of the project at the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine was completed. According to Ukrainian law, this is a necessary procedure that allows the Ukrainian side to officially start financial activities within the received grant.
The total budget for the project for Ukraine amounts to 1,122,921.42 euros. This includes an EU grant of 1,010,629.00 euros and a co-financing contribution from the City Council of Belz, which equals 112,292.42 euros.
Over the next two years, construction of new sewage treatment facilities with a capacity of 500 cubic meters, as well as a new 200-meter section of the sewer network, will be carried out in Belz, reliably connecting the new facilities with existing city infrastructure.
