In the plans, together with Polish partners, to resume the work of the pedestrian crossing “Ugryniv-Dolgobychiv”

Poland is our closest neighbor, from the first day of the full-scale enemy invasion of our land, the Poles have been providing Ukrainians with massive humanitarian aid, sending military ammunition and medicines to the front line every day. There are currently thousands of Ukrainian refugees in the Lublin Voivodeship, Poles provide them with accommodation and help them adapt to a new country.

On February 27, the Mayor of Sokal, Serhii Kasyan, and the Mayor of Dolgobychiv commune (Republic of Poland), Grzegorz Drevnyk, signed a cooperation agreement.

On the same day, Sokal Mayor Serhii Kasyan and City Council employee Ihor Datsyuk met in the city of Lublin at the Marshal’s Office with Vice-Marshal Zbigniew Wojciechowski and Director of the Department of Strategy and Development Bohdan Kawalk. The mayor of Sokal, Serhii Kasyan, thanked our Polish colleagues for the invaluable help that is received in Ukraine every day. Friends recognize each other in trouble, the Poles confirmed our friendly relations during the war.

During the meeting, both delegations drew up plans for writing joint international projects, and also discussed joint steps to restore the operation of the “Ugryniv-Dolgobychiv” pedestrian crossing, arrangement of border infrastructure on both sides of the border.
