In Sheptytsky, strategic approaches to the sustainable development of the local energy sector and coal regions have been discussed. Over the past four years, the Sheptytsky community’s achievements in the project ‘Just Transition of Coal Regions and Green Recovery of Ukraine’s Energy Sector’ have been significant, especially with a focus on self-sufficiency in project implementation.
As noted by Halyna Lytvyn, the head of the regional project office, cooperation with GIZ Ukraine has brought substantial successes in communication…raising the standard of living of the community. Last year, an ambitious ‘Action Plan’ for transformation, including thirteen key projects, was approved.
Additionally, a significant achievement was the development of the ‘Chervonograd’ industrial park and methods for closing mines, which contributes to greater stability in the region. A notable step was also the opening of a renewable energy training center at the Chervonograd Mining and Construction College, supporting business initiatives, and establishing new educational programs.
