At the end of last year, a project for reconstructing the pool heating system was developed for the Shakhtar sports complex.
The project involves the use of a geothermal reversible chiller, known as a heat pump. It includes the installation of two geothermal pumps and is to be implemented in two stages. The first stage involves modernizing the water heating system in the pool basin. The second stage will provide heating for all other premises of the sports complex.
In April of this year, the company YUNAM-Montage won the tender to implement the first part of the project. Currently, the contractor is completing preparations ahead of the geothermal pump installation.
“A geothermal heat pump with a horizontal loop is one of the most popular methods of energy-efficient heating and cooling. The system works by using the heat from the ground, which is transmitted through pipes laid horizontally beneath the surface. Implementing such a technology will significantly reduce heating costs,” notes Oleksiy Khomenko, the chief engineer of YUNAM-Montage.
