Central City Hospital to Open Pharmacy for Cost-Price Access to Medicines

The Central City Hospital plans to open a pharmacy that will operate as a unit of the medical facility. The pharmacy will be opened following the National Security Council’s decision to improve Ukrainians’ access to medicines, explained Deputy Mayor Volodymyr Koval. According to the government’s vision, such pharmacies will sell medicines at cost or with minimal markup, emphasized Volodymyr Stepanovych.

Location and Licensing Requirements

The pharmacy will be set up in the Polyclinic opposite the registry, as licensing requirements demand a premises of at least 50 m². Mayor Andriy Zalivskyi added that the hospital needs to obtain the license by May 23.

Support of Deputies

On March 27, during a regular session, the deputies supported the decision to amend the statute of the city hospital, which includes provisions for the retail sale of medicines and medical products.
