The road to the crossing point on the Ukrainian-Polish border “Nyzhankovychi – Malhovice” has been repaired

Major repairs of the Nyzhankovychi – Sambir – Drohobych – Stryi highway have been completed. 46 kilometers leading to the newly constructed checkpoint “Nyzhankovichi – Malhovice” on the Ukrainian-Polish border were restored.

The implementation of this project will improve logistics connections with Poland, reduce travel time through the site, and also reduce the traffic load on other roads leading to the border.

The last time the road Nyzhankovychi – Sambir – Drohobych – Stryi was repaired was in the 70s of the last century and was one of the most problematic in the Lviv region, in particular due to dangerous potholes and emergency bridges. Now that is a thing of the past.

The Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, together with the State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure of Ukraine, despite the war, continues to rebuild the transport infrastructure, without which it is impossible to imagine either the economic or social development of the country.

The repair of the road Nyzhankovychi – Sambir – Drohobych – Stryi was carried out within the framework of the government agreement between Ukraine and Poland. It is part of the international project “Development of border road infrastructure at the approaches to checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border”, which is implemented at the expense of the Polish side.

It provides for the modernization of border roads in the Lviv region: T-14-18 Nyzhankovychi – Sambir – Drohobych – Stryi (renovated) T-14-01 checkpoint “Smilnytsia” – Stary Sambir (renovated) T-14-20 Yavoriv – Hrushiv (renovated) T-14-04 Chervonograd – Rava-Ruska (repair is in progress).
