On the road R-15 Kovel – Volodymyr-Volynskyi – Chervonograd – Zhovkva, the repair of the bridge over the Bolotnia River near the settlement of Silets was completed. Car traffic through the building is now open in both directions.
Highway R-15 has a high social significance for Lviv and Volyn regions. This road not only connects these two regions, it is also a tourist destination. Because it is the route to the Shatsky Lakes of the Volyn Region and to the Zhovkiv Castle – an architectural monument of the Renaissance in the Lviv Region.
“The crossing was built in 1960, and in 1975 the structure was reconstructed. Since then, no capital repair or reconstruction work has been carried out. Due to the significant load on the bridge for 48 years, the beams collapsed and separated, the supports were deformed, and the railing and barrier fence were damaged. In addition, the bridge lacked proper waterproofing, without which the structure would quickly collapse in a high humidity environment. After specialists carried out an appropriate inspection of the 30-meter structure, it was found that the bridge is of limited serviceability and is in the IV operational state,” says Oleg Bereza, head of the Service for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure in the Lviv region.
What works were performed during the repair work:
▪️ strengthening the beams of the span structure and restoring their protective layer;
▪️ a closet (retaining) wall is installed;
▪️ transitional slabs are arranged;
▪️ work on the reinforcement of the overlay slab was carried out and the overlay slab was arranged;
▪️ installed sidewalks;
▪️ waterproofing is arranged;
▪️ constructive layers of asphalt concrete road surface are laid;
▪️ washroom and barrier fencing are arranged;
▪️ road markings are applied;
▪️ road signs are installed.
In addition, “DerzhDorNDI” specialists conducted an inspection of the repaired structure and now it will be transferred to the II operational state.
Repair work is carried out as part of operational maintenance of the building. The contractor organization “Automagistral – Pivden” LLC worked at the facility.
