
In the Sambir region, heroes who defended Ukraine on the battlefield and were posthumously awarded state honours were recognised. The awards were bestowed in accordance with the Decrees of the President of Ukraine, as reported by the Lviv Regional State Administration.
The Order “For Courage” Third Class was posthumously awarded to Mykola Stadnyk, a resident of the village of Dolobiv, who died on 22 August 2025 while serving in the 82nd Air Assault Brigade. Other honourees include Vitaliy Dzyuba from Maksymovychi, who died on 6 September 2025 in the ranks of the 80th Brigade, and Volodymyr Petryniak from Pynyany, who served in the 47th Mechanised Brigade and died on 17 April 2024.
Vasyl Halun from Zahirya also received the order for his service in the 61st Mechanised Brigade, joining to defend the country. Ivan Popyk from Maly Baranivtsi, who died on 10 January 2026, was honoured with the Presidential Award “For the Defence of Ukraine”.
