In the village of Pidbirtsi, which is part of the Lviv Municipal Territorial Community, street lighting using solar panel lights and motion sensors has been installed for the first time. This solution allows for electricity savings and is independent of traditional power supply.
According to Andriy Shenghofer, head of Lviv Community Office in Lysynychi and Pidbirtsi, there were previously no streetlights on this part of Zaliznychna Street. The initiative to install them was supported by local residents and implemented with the help of LKP ‘Lvivsvitlo’, which set up six new lights.
This is not the first instance of using such lighting: two similar lights are already operational in Bryukhovychi. Representatives of LKP ‘Lvivsvitlo’ emphasized that this was the most optimal option for this area.
Active work on improving street lighting in the community began with the formation of Lviv MTG. For example, in Zarudtsi, 15 new electric poles were installed on portions of streets last year. Lighting has also been updated in other areas, including Maly Grybovychi and Dubliany.
