Due to the destruction of the bridge, some residents of the community face the problem of getting there every day.
A meeting was held in the Boryslav community to resolve the issue of passenger transportation for local residents. The participants were Mayor Ihor Yavorskyi, Head of the Department of Transport and Communications of Lviv OVA Stepan Rudnytskyi, carriers serving city, suburban and intercity routes, deputies of the Boryslav City Council.
The passenger transport service is used daily by a large part of the residents of the Boryslav community. And if the residents of some micro-districts have the opportunity to travel freely through the city and neighboring settlements, then the residents living in the areas of private residential buildings face the problem of commuting every day.
This situation arose many years ago, and the main reason was the destruction of the bridge on the street. Heroes of the OUN-UPA. Then suburban and intercity transport began to run through the entire city, duplicating the movement of city routes, thereby displacing them from the city’s street and road network.
“Unfortunately, after the destruction of the bridge on Heroiv OUN-UPA street, significant changes took place in the organization of the movement of transport vehicles on the territory of our community. As a result, we have an oversaturated route through the Kovaliva microdistrict, and vice versa – inefficient transport connections with the microdistricts of the so-called low-rise residential buildings. Our duty is to organize high-quality connections of passenger transportation throughout the city, to clearly distinguish between city, intercity and suburban routes and to match them according to the current legislation,” said Mayor Ihor Yavorskyi.
During the meeting, they discussed the issue of solving the problems of passenger transportation in the Boryslav community and considered ways to provide high-quality transport for public use in all microdistricts of the city.
“The current legislation clearly states that bus stations are the only stopping places for suburban routes, and other stopping places in the city are agreed upon by the executive body of the city council. If you regulate the movement of suburban and intercity passenger transportation, and accordingly organize urban transportation, then there will be dissatisfaction among residents living in blocks of multi-story residential buildings. Residents of Kovaliv, Volodymyr Veliky, 600th anniversary of Boryslav and other central streets really find it convenient to get around the city and to other settlements. But it is necessary to take into account the needs of residents of other microdistricts”, – said the head of the transport and communication department of LOVA Stepan Rudnytskyi.
According to the results of the meeting, the city government and carriers serving city, suburban and intercity routes should jointly work out ways to solve the problem of transport connections.
