Petro Kobrynovych, a resident of Drohobych, was killed while defending Ukraine from the enemy. The defender of Ukraine had been missing for about eight months. Only now has it been possible to return the soldier’s body for identification and burial in his native land.
Petro Kobrynovych was born on 5 December 1987, he lived in Drohobych on Symonenko Street. He studied at school No. 8, then at vocational school No. 15. After graduation, he was engaged in repair work and travelled abroad.
During a full-scale enemy invasion, the Drohobych resident volunteered to defend Ukraine, went to the military commissariat, where he was initially refused, but on 13 September 2022, Petro joined the ranks of the defenders of Ukraine.
The resident of Drohobych took part in the defence of Ukraine from the enemy at the frontline, and went through hot spots of clashes with the enemy. He was the gunner of the 3rd Ranger Division of the 1st Ranger Platoon, 1st Ranger Company, 1st Ranger Battalion, military unit A4056.
From 27 March 2024, Petro Kobrynovych was reported missing. Only eight months later, after an examination, it was possible to confirm the identity of the deceased soldier – the defender died near the village of Semenivka, Pokrovsk district, Donetsk region.
The deceased soldier was survived by his mother, grandmother and fiancée, whom the defender planned to marry during his leave.
The Drohobych City Council, its executive committee and deputies, Mayor Taras Kuchma and Council Secretary Orest Karakevych express their sincere condolences to the family, relatives, friends and relatives of Petro Kobrynovych on the untimely death of our countryman and Hero.
The time of arrival of the funeral convoy with the body of the fallen defender will be announced later.
