The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed hope for the possibility of continuing exchanges, which would confirm the effectiveness of diplomacy. This was reported by the Lviv Regional State Administration.
Zelensky noted that a report had already been made by the negotiating group, which held meetings in America with representatives of the President of the United States. Although the American side’s attention is focused on the situation surrounding Iran, it is important to end Russia’s war against Ukraine. The President expressed gratitude to the American public for supporting peace for Ukraine.
Zelensky emphasised that it is important for the aggressor not to be rewarded for the war, and that security guarantees for Ukraine and Europe are sufficient for a reliable peace. After the negotiating group returns to Ukraine, a detailed discussion of all aspects of the meetings is planned.
The President also noted that the situation remains transparent: Putin does not wish to end the war, but the world desires peace. Ukraine, together with the international community, will do everything possible to end the war.
