Zhovkva has officially become a twin town of the Moldovan settlement of Sireti. The corresponding agreement was signed by Mayor Oleg Volskyi and the head of the Sireti community, Leonid Boaghi.
Sireti is located in Moldova, approximately 25 kilometres from the country’s capital, Chișinău. It is a modern settlement where approaches to community development are being actively implemented, particularly in the field of alternative energy and energy efficiency.
The Sireti community is headed by the youngest mayor in Moldova who, according to the parties, pays considerable attention to modernising the area and introducing new solutions in local self-government.
The twinning agreement was signed during the participation of community representatives in a conference dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Covenant of Mayors – East project.
