Mass poisoning of children in Lviv region has become the subject of an investigation under the prosecution’s control.
Under the procedural guidance of juvenile prosecutors from the Stryi district prosecutor’s office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the violation of sanitary rules and regulations regarding the prevention of infectious diseases and mass poisonings (Part 1 of Article 325 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
According to preliminary data, on the territory of one of the recreational complexes in the Stryi area, entrepreneurs organized a private camp for 130 children from different regions. On August 4, minors began complaining of feeling unwell: complaints of nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea, which may indicate food poisoning. As a result, 24 children of different age groups with a diagnosis of acute intestinal infection were hospitalized in infectious disease hospitals.
Currently, the food block, kitchen, dining room, and pantry have been sealed to ensure an additional examination of the scene with the participation of the laboratory of the Main Directorate of the State Consumer Service in Lviv region. The proceedings are under the personal control of the prosecution’s leadership, with the head of the district prosecutor’s office appointed as the senior prosecutor of the group. Initial investigative actions are ongoing in cooperation with specialists from the State Consumer Service.
