Three Years of the Breast Milk Bank in Lviv

Today, December 19, marks three years since the establishment of the Breast Milk Bank at the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center. Over this time, thanks to 166 donors, it has been possible to collect two tons of donor breast milk.

“The Breast Milk Bank is a large-scale project of the Lviv Perinatal Center. We launched it during the first year of the full-scale war with funding from the regional budget. We are grateful to the regional authorities for supporting this extremely important project for prematurely born children. The informational and technical components, as well as staff training, were provided by our Polish friends from the Fundacja Bank Mleka Kobiecego, including its president, Aleksandra Wesolowska,” said the director of the perinatal center, Mariya Malachynska.

The Lviv Perinatal Center invites women who have a surplus of breast milk to join this useful and necessary cause. Details can be obtained by calling: 0 800 505 435.
