Czech Republic to Continue Supporting Medical Projects in Lviv Region

The Czech Republic will continue supporting medical projects in the Lviv region.

During a meeting on September 11, the acting head of the Lviv Regional Council, Yurii Kholod, and the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, met with the newly appointed Consul General of the Czech Republic in Lviv, Jiří Borcel, to discuss the development of cooperation in the fields of economy, science, education, healthcare, and culture.

In the person of the Consul General, the regional leaders thanked the Czech Republic for its unwavering comprehensive assistance to Ukraine in times of war. Yurii Kholod expressed gratitude for supporting healthcare institutions in the Lviv region, particularly the Lviv Regional Clinical Perinatal Center and the Lviv Regional Veterans and Repressed Persons Hospital named after Y. Lypa.

“Thanks to the Czech Republic, significant modernization projects are being implemented in these medical institutions. This includes not only substantial repairs and equipment procurement but also joint medical missions. Currently, the hospital needs to expand its capabilities for treating and rehabilitating more military personnel. We also plan to reach the European level in providing medical assistance to our veterans. Additionally, Lviv region is ready for exchanges of art groups and joint festivals, which are also seen as an element of our military’s rehabilitation,” Yurii Kholod stated.

Jiří Borcel assured that the Czech authorities will continue to finance projects in the Lviv region because they are effective in overcoming the challenges of war and developing the area. “Our priority is medicine,” emphasized Jiří Borcel.

Next week, a Ukrainian-Czech cultural festival “Czech Dreams” will be held in Lviv.
