Plastic surgeon from the USA to visit Lviv: free treatment for children

On 8 November, a plastic surgeon of Ukrainian origin from the USA, Oksana Jackson, will come to Lviv. At St Nicholas Children’s Municipal Hospital, over four days she will provide free consultations and perform operations on children with severe congenital and acquired facial defects.

One day of the visit will be devoted to free consultations for new patients. The remaining three days will be dedicated to surgery for children selected during her previous charitable mission to Lviv.

Parents of children with the following conditions can register for a consultation:

  • cleft lip and palate;
  • speech disorders caused by cleft palate;
  • congenital deformities of the nose and auricles;
  • scarring on the face following burns;
  • large congenital naevi.

The American surgeon has been working with St Nicholas Children’s Hospital of the First Medical Association of Lviv since 2013. The visit planned for November will be her sixth since the start of the full-scale invasion. Last year, Oksana Jackson’s team together with Lviv doctors examined more than 100 young patients and performed around 50 operations.

Advance registration for a consultation is mandatory. Once a child has been approved, coordinators will contact the parents to inform them of the exact time and place of the consultation at St Nicholas Hospital.
