Professor Eric Bouffet, one of the world’s most renowned paediatric neuro-oncologists from Canada, has once again visited the Clinical Centre for Paediatric Medicine in Lviv and held consultations for patients.
Together with the Centre’s specialists, he consulted around 60 children with brain and spinal cord tumours. During the multidisciplinary meetings, the medical team carefully analysed examination results, histological and molecular genetic studies, and drew up individual treatment plans based on current methods.
The Clinical Centre for Paediatric Medicine noted that cooperation with the professor is ongoing: he keeps in touch with doctors in Lviv, takes part in online multidisciplinary meetings, facilitates complex tests at the Canadian medical centre SickKids and helps to provide patients with high-cost medicines.
During the visit, there was a special meeting between Professor Eric Bouffet and the children he is supporting through their treatment. The young patients thanked the doctor with sweet treats, an embroidered shirt and a handmade poster.
The Clinical Centre for Paediatric Medicine operates on the basis of the “Okhmatdyt” hospital and the Western Ukrainian Specialised Paediatric Medical Centre.
