The Mother and Child Clinic of the University Hospital has been equipped with modern devices for neonatal resuscitation. The facility has received an open resuscitation system, the Dräger Babyroo TN300, worth almost 12 thousand euros.
This system is a comprehensive solution for providing care to infants in the first minutes after birth. A single device combines support for maintaining the baby’s required body temperature, monitoring of vital signs, the possibility of respiratory therapy and ensuring airway patency. Thanks to this, all the key equipment needed for the initial stage of resuscitation is concentrated in one place.
The equipment was donated to the clinic by the Rotary Club, represented by the club president, Vasyl Perepada. An important link in establishing communication and organising the delivery was Maria Kiselova — Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, neonatologist with 31 years of experience. Around three months passed from the first contact to the actual handover of the system.
The implementation of this project also involved the charitable organisation CO CF “Synyo-zhovtyi khrest” and the foundation’s team. Special mention was made of the coordination and support from Khrystyna Famova, the head of the foundation in Ukraine, and Linda May, who leads the Ukrainian-German organisation involved in the transfer of the equipment.
The clinic stresses that the new Dräger Babyroo TN300 system will allow for faster and more effective care for the youngest patients precisely at those moments when every second is crucial.
