In July, LCP “Lev” found homes for 43 animals

In Lviv, the municipal enterprise LCP “Lev” found new homes for 43 animals over the course of July. A total of 36 dogs and 7 cats found new owners.

According to the enterprise, staff caught 52 stray dogs during the month. After being caught, dogs stay at LCP “Lev” for up to 21 days, and cats for five days. During this time the animals are vaccinated, neutered, and provided with post-operative care and recovery.

If an animal cannot be rehomed within the set period, it is returned to the place where it was caught. Before that, a special microchip is implanted for future identification. When potential owners appear, the enterprise’s specialists first establish what conditions the dog or cat will live in and whether the person will be able to provide proper care for the animal.

Once a decision has been made, the animal is officially registered to the new owner, and the microchip, tag and veterinary passport data are updated. To complete the paperwork, the future owner must have their passport with them.

There are currently still 50 dogs and 20 cats at LCP “Lev”. Here they undergo veterinary procedures, receive daily care and wait to be rehomed.

You can get to know the animals looking for a family on the LCP “Lev” website in the “Give shelter” section or on the enterprise’s official pages on social media.
