Background.

Diabetes mellitus is an incurable chronic disease that requires constant monitoring of blood sugar levels to prevent complications. The number of children with diabetes in Ukraine is growing every year. One of the most modern methods of treating the disease, an insulin pump, can make life easier for children with diabetes.

This is a small electronic device that automatically monitors blood sugar levels and injects small doses of insulin as needed.

The pump and its infusion system, which needs to be changed every three days, are expensive and often unaffordable for families of children with diabetes.
