A new scientific community – the “Ukrainian Society of Medical Chemistry” – was presented at the Lviv Regional State Administration.
It was created on the basis of the Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University. **The purpose of the society** is to unite Ukrainian scientists working in the sphere of medical chemistry, and to provide them with more opportunities for development and international cooperation.
One of the main tasks is to join the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology, which will allow Ukrainian experts to participate in joint research and projects with colleagues from 26 European countries. The organization will also work on attracting grants for Ukrainian laboratories, developing young scientists, creating joint international programs, and promoting national scientific achievements abroad.
“This is another important step for our region to become a center of medical innovations. But the true results of the society will depend on those who will join the projects, research, and commercialization of the results. I hope that all ambitious plans will be realized,” emphasized Oleksandr Kulepin, Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
