In Lviv, educational and practical training sessions were held, where laparoscopic surgeries were performed on patients with rectal cancer.
Andrii Yaremko noted that the head of the oncology and coloproctology department of the National Cancer Institute, Vitalii Zvirych, joined the trainings. Lviv surgeons, together with the capital’s specialist, performed 5 laparoscopic surgeries on patients with distal rectal cancer and consulted another 10 patients. The event also included interns and young doctors from different parts of Ukraine, who gained practical experience with laparoscopic equipment and had the opportunity to observe robotic surgical systems. Thanks to Vitalii Zvirych for sharing his experience, and to all participants for their commitment to improving medicine in Ukraine.
