In Lviv, a 52-year-old defender became a mother with the help of local doctors.
The defender, who voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the beginning of the war, met her love during the service. Natalia and Sergiy decided to have a child together, despite the woman’s mature age. Doctors from the First Medical Association of Lviv closely monitored the pregnancy. They ensured the safe delivery of the baby via a cesarean section.
According to Natalia Sheketa, an obstetrician-gynecologist: “Our patient wanted to have a child so much that she consciously took the risks”. The girl, Solomia, was born weighing 2500 grams and measuring 48 cm in height. Thanks to the professionalism of the doctors, the pregnancy went without complications.
Modern medicine enables women to successfully give birth after the age of 50. Natalia became an example that motherhood in later age is possible and safe with the support of experienced specialists.
