Lviv Doctors Preserve Motherhood for 38-Year-Old Woman

Specialists at St. Anna’s Hospital in Lviv successfully performed a complex operation, removing a uterine fibroid the size of a handball from a 38-year-old woman. This operation preserved the woman’s chance of motherhood.

The patient approached the doctors with complaints of abdominal enlargement, bloating, and prolonged and heavy menstruation, which caused general weakness. Examination revealed a benign lesion — a uterine fibroid.

Thanks to the professionalism of the medical team, they conducted an organ-preserving operation that allowed the removal of the tumour while maintaining all critical functions of the body. The woman is currently feeling well and has been discharged for recovery at home.

Doctors emphasise the importance of regular check-ups, as a fibroid can become a serious health threat if not diagnosed in the early stages.
