Doctors of the First Medical Association of Lviv are preparing Ukrainians for prosthetics. Patients undergo physical training, work with psychologists and other specialists. After all, a person who has lost a limb must be physically ready for life with a prosthesis.
“Such training takes place in one of the medical institutions of the UNBROKEN Ukraine ecosystem. Oksana became one of the first patients at the Rehabilitation Center. The woman lost her leg during the shelling. Russian troops opened fire near her home in Gulyaipol. Now the woman is actively preparing to get a prosthesis. She will receive it abroad.
Our goal is high-quality prosthetics in Ukraine. For this purpose, we are creating the “Unbreakable” National Rehabilitation Center, so that Ukrainians can receive high-quality medical care and rehabilitation at home, on their native land,” said Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovy.
We will remind you that the National Rehabilitation Center “Unbroken” (UNBROKEN) will be built in Lviv, where more than 50,000 Ukrainians will be able to receive physical, psychological and social rehabilitation every year. Surgery, in particular reconstructive, as well as orthopedics and robotic prosthetics, is a separate direction. Here, bone bioimplants and exoskeletons will be installed, reconstructive operations on limbs and hand microsurgery, endoprosthetics will be performed.
On the day of the presentation of the “Unbreakable” project, patrons collected more than 2 million euros, and the German city of Freiburg will allocate 1 million euros for the construction of a dormitory for patients of the rehabilitation center. The Lviv IT Cluster will also finance the creation of the Mental Health Center in Lviv, which will work within the Nezlamni center.
