From 26 to 30 October, a charitable mission is taking place at the University Hospital with the participation of surgeons from the USA, the United Kingdom and Ukraine. As part of the visit, the medical team is providing free consultations and complex surgical interventions for pre-selected patients. In total, around 20 operations are planned.
The mission programme includes not only treatment of patients, but also professional exchange of experience: joint case reviews, lectures and discussions on modern approaches to surgical treatment.
Patients with the following groups of conditions were invited for free consultations:
- coloproctological – including oncological and inflammatory bowel diseases, rectal prolapse, complex fistulas;
- hepatopancreatobiliary – liver and pancreatic tumours, pathology of the bile ducts;
- urogynaecological – pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, urogenital and rectovaginal fistulas.
The organisers of the mission highlight the contribution of the Smart Medical Aid charitable foundation and international partners who have supported the initiative and joined in providing highly specialised care to Ukrainian patients.
