In the Lviv region, the spring campaign for the oral immunisation of wild carnivorous animals to combat rabies is ongoing. The vaccination is carried out as part of the Anti-Epizootic Measures Plan for 2026 and the implementation of a grant agreement, covering an area of nearly 14,000 km². This method is effective given the tense epizootic situation in Ukraine.
Vaccines are distributed via special bait. As noted by the ecology and natural resources department of the Lviv Regional State Administration, oral vaccination will protect both animals and people. Residents of the region are asked not to touch the bait with the vaccine and to understand the purpose of this campaign.
